Sound of Slaughter
(by Lord Gorlan of the Red Lands, 1998)
(tune: "The Sound of Music" from The Sound of Music)
The field is alive with the sound of slaughter.
The screams of the slain surround our ears
The field is alive with the sound of slaughter
And when they're all dead we can drink some beers.
The field is alive with the sound of slaughter
And while they lie in their gore, we'll get their gold
And latter that night, with some merchant's daughters
We'll spend and cavort, until the dawn is old
We came to war, looking for pay and booty
But to tell you the truth, We'd do it for free
We live for the chance to kill and get all sooty
To set fire to the town is payment enough you see.
The field is alive with the sound of slaughter
The screams of the slain surround our ears
The field is alive with the sound of slaughter
And when they're all dead we can drink some beers.
The Story Behind this Song
At an event a few months back, St Mattews tourney,
the melees continued untill it was dark. As it got latter and latter, I
could hear the beers in the cooler calling my name. This song and tune just
came up.
