Fatguys Banner - Vert, a tankard Or.

Saint Karl

(First and parts of last verse by unknown author, rest by Lord Gorlan of the Red Lands, 1998)
(tune: "Beverly Hillbillies Theme")

Come 'n listen to my story 'bout a man named Karl
Poor wanderer on a Pensic trip from far
Early one morning he was diggin' on his knees
An' up from the ground came a bubblin' mead
Beer that is, Liquid Gold! Fighter Tea!

After strikin' beer, he went lookin' for a wench
Karl needed more than gettin' his thirst quenched
He went to the parkin' lot, I swear that this is true
He found twin red heads, that was miracle number two
Bimbo's that is, Pensic Pretties! Red Headed stereo!

Next Ullam Gallowglas was tryin' to test a knife
With Karl watchin', he couldn't cut to save his life
But as soon as Karl left and he tried it all alone
The knife cut like butter through his thumb down to the bone
Major Bleeding that is, Artesian well, 40 Stitches.

Well the Next thing you know, Ol' Karl's been Canonized
House Folk Said, "Three miracles before our eyes"
The Pensic War is fun, and the war it is today.
And if we do get thirsty, to Saint Karl we will Pray
For Beer that is, Amber Drink, from the Ground.

Ya all come back now ya hear!

History. The Story Behind this Song

At pensic 11 Karl Addler the Wanderer(now the Reislander) was digging a firepit and struck Beer. It was proclaimed to be a miracle. Latter he found twin red heads in the parking lot and convinced them to attend the event. This was declared miracle number two. By this time he a crowd following him around waiting for miracle number three. He and Ullam Gallowglas were at a merchants booth looking at knives. Ullam was testing the knife by drawinging it against his thumb. 1st try nothing. The Merchant shapend it. Again nothing. It would slice paper but wouldn't cut his hand. When Karl left he tried it again and gave himself a nasty cut. This was proclaimed miracle number three and Karl was declaired a Saint. The first verse was (I assume) written on the spot. I added verses two and three and rewrote verse four. I have been unable to identify the author of the original song.
