My Friend the Reislander
(Tune: "Witch Doctor" by David Seville)
(By Gorlan of the Red Lands, Based upon a suggestion by Lady Sadafa, 1998)
My friend the Reislander, he talked to me one day
My friend the Reislander, he told me what to say
My friend the Reislander, he told me how to play
And he said , Ah-ah, Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah, go out and get a life boy
Ah-ah, ah-ha-ah, go out and get a life.
My friend the Reislander, he gave me some advice
My friend the Reislander, he told it to me twice
My frined the Reislander, he said we should play nice
And he said , Ah-ah, Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah, go out and get a life boy
Ah-ah, ah-ha-ah, go out and get a life.
My friend the Reislander, he said to just have fun
My friend the Reislander, said you'll see that others then will come
My friend the Reislander, said its the best way to get things done
And he said , Ah-ah, Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah, go out and get a life boy
Ah-ah, ah-ha-ah, go out and get a life.
My friend the Reislander, he told me what to do
My friend the Reislander, he said be responsible just for you
My friend the Reislander, he said give others that courtesy too
And he said , Ah-ah, Ah-ah-ah, Ah-ah, just worry about your own life boy
Ah-ah, ah-ha-ah, And let others live their own lives too.
And he said , Ah-ah, Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah, go out and get a life boy
Ah-ah, ah-ha-ah, go out and get a life.
The Story Behind this Song
This one started as a suggestion at Baronial Investiture, (Title and tune
only). But at a recent meeting, our Baron Karl the Reislander ("Saint
Karl"/"Get a Life Says the Baron" in earlier songs) made a plea to play nice again and said basically that "If
you have enough time time on your hands to call me up and complain about
how other people are leading their personnal lives, You have too much time
on your hands. Get a hobby!" Looking at this work in progress, the words just flowed.
