Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?
(by Gorlan of the Red Lands, 1999)
(Tune: "Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?", trad.)
Chorus:
Oh where Oh where has my little dog gone
Oh where Oh where can she be.
I last saw her at the Knight's Crossing demo
Would someone return her to me
I was much too excited about my new tent
That I drove off and left her behind
And when I drove back, there was no one around
My doggy I still need to find
Chorus:
I hope that she's safely in somebody's home
And not in somebody's stew
If any have seen my little black dog
Return her, I do beg of you
Chorus:
I looked high and low but my doggy is gone
And no one has seen her at all
She's little black Scotty with a reverse Mohawk
If see her please give me a call
Chorus:
The Story Behind this Song
At the Knight’s Crossing Demo July 98, The prize was a period tent for the best Demo Team. The group from Meadowmarch did a really fine job and won. When the event was over they packed up the up the tent, stowed their gear and drove away, leaving their little dog behind. They came back and hour latter and got her, but the Baron proclaimed that in the
future that all dogs and children left behind at Knight’s Crossing will be eaten by the clean up crew. That inspired this song.
