Fatguys Banner - Vert, a tankard Or.

Listen to the Gossip of the Courtiers

(by Lord Gorlan of the Red Lands, 1998)
(Tune: "Rhythm of the Rain" by The Cascades)

Listen to the Gossip of the Courtiers
Trying to spread around some dirt
It doesn't have to be at all factual
As long as someone's reputation is hurt.

Whenever you hear something about someone
Just interpret it in the worst light
And you too can be a master courtier
You can destroy a group without a fight

You can spread along each rumor that you come across
Dig up all the dirt from their past
If you can blacken everybody else's name
Maybe they'll recognize you at last

So why waste your time actually doing things
When all it takes is a few phone calls
Just remember never write down anything
Or else they'll have you by the B*lls.

Just look around, and its easy to find something
At which you can take offense
It doesn't have to be logical
No need to use some common sense.

Listen to the Gossip of the Courtiers
Trying to spread around some dirt
It doesn't have to be at all factual
As long as someone's reputation is hurt.

History. The Story Behind this Song

Silly politics again. Sorry, They've gone beyond the point of silly to Stupid. At Nebulungen III, we had a flood of people coming to our encampment Crying "Sanctuary". We actually had to make a beer run on Saturday to restock. We didn't have the heart to turn away the refugees. The dream has room many diverse ways of playing. What bothers me is when an individual tries to FORCE his/her view on everybody else. My view point has always been, if you have a strong view, Live it. Those who agree will emulate, those who don't, won't. If you find yourself sitting alone in your camp at night, then maybe you should do some serious soul searching. There may be a reason why people are staying away.
