House of the Fat Guys
(by Lord Aestan and Gorlan of the Red Lands, 1999)
(Tune: "House of the Rising Sun" by Bob Dylan)
There is a house in Drachenwald
They call the Fat Guys
And it's been the ruin of many a Lord
And God I know I’m one
Now the only thing a Fat Guy needs
Is a sword and a bucket of beer
Plus a tent that's large enough
To store all their gear
My First household was full of heralds
We kept the kingdoms pure and glum
But when I was acknowledged as a Fat Guy
I found it was much more fun.
We have many people we call "Friends"
And assorted camp followers too.
We only ask, no talk of politics
While we sit and drink our brew.
Oh Seneschal, tell your populous.
Not to do what we have done.
Tell them to avoid the Fat Guys Camp
Because they are having way too much fun.
There is a house in Drachenwald
They Call the Fat Guys
And it's been the ruin of many a Lord
And God I know I’m one
The Story Behind this Song
Lord Aestan started this one. He publicly states that he dislikes filks, but they keep coming to him. I liked the start of this one and just followed the thread.
